Drawing in a Cook Book
I found this wonderful Cook book in my local book store in a Bargain Book section. It has such lovely paper! I probably looked so weird to other customers because I actually had to open a bunch of books and feel the paper - I was looking for something that could take a lot of "beating" because I wanted to use it for mixed media! You would be surprised how many books are out there waiting to be used for fun projects, like this! I am very happy with my find.
The illustration I started with is done with lots of soft pastels, some gesso and water soluble crayons (Neocolor II). I had to periodically blot the paper with a slightly damp rag to calm the pastel dust down a bit.
